Guest guest Posted October 5, 2004 Report Share Posted October 5, 2004 Hi All, I live in the East Bay and am interested in hearing from other vegans and vegetarians 'round here who both: a) live with companion animals, and wish, when they were going out of town there was some other nice vegan or vegetarian to look after their animal friends in their absense, and b) would be willing to take care of the companion animals of other veg-types from time to time. My idea is to work with folks who are interested in setting up a network of veg folks who would like to exchange vacation animal care. Face it, it's hard to go away when you have a companion animal (esp., it seems, a dog) whom you will be leaving behind. " Pet sitting " services are expensive, and the likelihood that you'll find one that is sympathetic to your views is probably fairly low. I know that, as a vegan, I'd be much more comfortable leaving if I knew my friends were going to be cared for by someone whose ideas about animals are ethically aligned with mine. Feel similarly?
