Guest guest
Hi Everyone! It is very important that you go to this demonstration tonight to protest foie gras! All the " chic " foie gras restaurants from around the city are going to be serving a fancy foie gras dinner!! There will most likely be lots of media (for the event and for the protest), so PLEASE make it out there... There are over a thousand people on these lists; let's get more than ten people this time!!! Check out the details below. FOIE GRAS PROTEST!! San Francisco City Hall Foie Gras Demonstration IDA has just learned that the 15th Annual Bon Appetit Wine & Spirits Focus® event will be held this evening at city hall featuring San Francisco’s top restaurants and chefs. What’s on the menu? FOIE GRAS! Please join members of IDA, the Animal Protection & Rescue League (APRL), and Vegan Bite Back for a demonstration against this deadly " delicacy " . It is the height of hubris for restaurateurs to include foie gras (fatty liver) on the tasting menu following the passage of SB 1520. This demo will serve as a wakeup call to restaurant owners around the state and country that NOW is the time to remove animal torture from their menus, and that people who care about animals are not going to sit around and wait for the legal phase out period included in the new law to go into effect! When: Friday October 1, 2004, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Where: City Hall, 1 Dr. Carl B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA 94111 Contact: Paris (925) 788-8296 Posters and leaflets will be provided and Vegan Bite Back will have a brand new Body TV showing Gourmet Cruelty’s video, Delicacy of Despair. This peaceful, non-violent protest will be held on the Polk Street side of City Hall (the dome building). Thank you. Visit the web address below to tell your friends about this. Tell-a-friend!
