THE POLITICS OF

FOOD SAFETY

A discussion with Michele Simon, J.D., M.P.H.

Many experts believe that the food

industry has successfully blocked numerous efforts to enact stronger federal

regulations to protect the food we eat from potential health hazards such as E.coli

and genetic engineering. Learn how a complex web of government oversight keeps

us from learning about what's really in the foods we eat.

Michele Simon is a

public health lawyer specializing in food and nutrition policy. She is founder

and director of the Center for Informed Food Choices, a nonprofit organization

that educates about the politics of food. She has published numerous articles

about these issues.
