Why are no local AR/Veg Groups at this progressive event?

7th Annual PROGRESSIVE FESTIVAL

Walnut Park, Petaluma Blvd. S and D Street

Petaluma, CA

 

The Progressive Festival attracts over 2000 people each year, with world-class political

speakers, music, political entertainment and about 100 progressive groups tableing.

This year's Festival will feature:

 

-THE SAN FRANCISCO MIME TROUPE - Full-length performance

-TOM HAYDEN - anti-war activist and former State Senator

-PETER COYOTE - actor and environmentalist

-MEDEA BENJAMIN - co-director of Global Exchange

-PETER PHILLIPS - director of Project Censored

-MC will be KPFA's ANDREA LEWIS

 

(Plus speakers on Fair Trade, the war in Iraq, farm workers movement, women's movement, homelessness, military recruitment, alternative energy, living wage movement, and more!)

Don't you live up that way? Why don't you organize something for the event next year? BAV would be happy to support you if you want to lead the effort.

 

You could always show up this year and shadow the event with some "Why Vegan?" flyers in hand.

Dear Aram, Lisa, Chris and other friends,

 

I just realized that MPJC (Marin Peace and Justice Coalition) will be tabling at this event and because I have started an Animal Rights Committee with MPJC all I have to do is make sure they have AR/Veg literature and that they put it out on the table! Yeah! So, those who are going to this event, please stop by the MPJC table and thank them for integrating the issues and having AR/Veg literature!!
