Guest guest
Vegan Outreach has this program to 'adopt a college' and leaflet with Why Vegan/Try Vegetarian brochures. They have been very successful in reaching students and convincing others to adopt or integrate veganism into their lives. Although I'm not a student, I think this is a great program. I work in the SF area, so I usually walk over and leaflet during my lunchtime at Academy of Arts University; I have been doing this monthly since last year. I want to go this month, before Sept ends! It would be great to have one or two more people join me. AAC is on New Montgomery near Howard. It looks like a lot of the classes end at 11:30, so that's a god time to reach students leaving classes. Right now I'm thinking of doing it on 9/28... but 9/30 is also a possibility. http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php?EID=479#479 This is part of BAV's Advocacy Rewards Program (ARP), so participants will be eligible to win some cool prizes (vegan food, massages, merchandise, etc), too. http://www.bayareaveg.org/arp.htm If you are interested in adopting a college near you, you can find more info on the Adopt a College program at: http://www.veganhealth.org/colleges/ *** I would especially encourage students who attend a college to consider doing this at their school. It's very easy, and you can do it for as little as once a month for an hour. We can include your leafleting as part of the ARP if you like. New or experienced activists are welcome, and I look forward to hearing from one or two people to join me.
