Guest guest
Hi everyone, Thanks so very much for the continued concern and compassion for Lucky, the little rabbit who was taped to explosives and thrown into an East Bay lake. As an update, a pre-trial hearing is scheduled on September 24th. However, Roy Scheingart (Deputy DA in charge of Lucky case) does not believe the case will go to trial and that the perpetrators will settle well before then. It is very important that everyone call and/or write to *politely* request that he pursue maximum penalties and counseling for this horrific act of cruelty. This charge carries a maximum of one year in jail as well as fines Scheingart has been very receptive to hearing from House Rabbit Society and the public, and he has stated that " We are taking this seriously. We do take this seriously and will continue to take this seriously. " Please do take the time to write. Since they may settle soon, time is critical. You can also check out http://rabbit.org/rabbit-center/lucky_rescue.html for updates about Lucky. We should have some photos of her in her new home coming up soon. On Lucky's behalf, thank you!
