Guest guest
So it's Monday, and you're all sick of watching the Olympics. Why not turn the TV off and head out for what could be a historic night for Veganism in San Francisco? First, catch an early dinner at one of The City's many veg restaurants. Check out Bay Area Vegetarians excellent Ultimate Guide to Vegetarian Living: http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug/ After your belly is full with great vegan food, take in the early show at The Red Vic Movie House (http://www.redvicmoviehouse.com/august04/08_22_04.html), where at 7:15 p.m. you can see the documentary film everyone is talking about, Peaceable Kingdom (http://www.tribeofheart.org/pk.htm). This marks the first commercial screenings of a Tribe of Heart film anywhere! The movie is over and you'd like to wind down. You have plenty of time to head over to The Punchline (444 Battery Street) for the 9 p.m. comedy show Comics Against Evil (http://www.comicsagainstevil.com/), starring vegan cartoonist Dan Piraro, creator of the syndicated comic strip Bizarro (http://www.bizarro.com/). Dan's show is a politically-charged tear up of the current administration and is playing to appreciative audiences around the country. Comics Against Evil will also appear in Oakland (Tuesday) and San Jose (Wednesday). Now where else but in San Francisco can you get all of this on a Monday evening? ~ Joseph Connelly Founding Editor More Than Recipes™ VegNews Magazine VegetarianNewsPoliticsFoodTravelBuzz PO Box 320130 San Francisco, CA 94132 p: 415.665.NEWS (6397) Visit us! http://www.vegnews.com
