Guest guest
Hi folks, Clyde commented earlier about # of steakhouses increasing. In reading an article about Bay Area dining, from a survey of 1300 diners: -- 13% of people surveyed said they're choosing more red meat entrees. -- 25% of people surveyed are eating fewer carbs than a year ago. I think the Bay Area vegetarian and AR community needs to step up our outreach about 25%! What do you think? Some ideas: - regular tabling at street fairs, community events, farmer's markets - outreach to students (college, high school) - more folks participating in the Adopt a College campaign by Vegan Outreach - at places where community magazines are found, put out Vegetarian Starter Kits or Why Vegans - more veg 101 or AR 101 community workshops - educational/inspiring movie screenings Everyone has different skills and contacts. Let's work together! If you have a lead on a tabling opportunity, but don't want to table, pass it on. Maybe there's someone who wants to table but doesn't have any connections. BAV is always looking for places to table. We've got a scalable set-up that can go from small to grandiose and goodness knows the literature is better off in the hands of people than sitting unused in a box in our house. So, if you want to table with us, or have ideas where we can table, drop us a line. Better yet, if you are a dedicated, committed, and enthusiastic person, and would like to work with us more closely on developing outreach opportunities year-round, let us know. It'd be great to have you on board. Guest guest
Tammy, I agree 100%, Let me know how I can help you. Go to my calendar too once and while. I have recently started keeping it very updated as to what is going on that I hear about in the AR community. bitebackvegan Keep in mind the Christian Vegetarian Association pays $18.00 per hour for leafletting (up to 2 hours) the money to be allocated to the Veg or AR group of your choice. www.christianveg.com.
