Guest guest
You're invited to the Bay Area Vegetarians August Vegan Food Party! It will be held this month at the Rec Room of my apartment complex in Sunnyvale. When: Sat, 08/14/2004, 5:30pmWhere: SunnyvaleWhat: Vegan Food PartyHost: Mark Galecki E-mail: mark_galeck ( mark_galeck at pacbell.net ) We can stay inside or if the weather is nice we can eat outside at garden tables with sun umbrellas. We are allowed to use the swimming pool heated to 80F and the big whirlpool (slightly above body-temperature). If you want to use them please bring a bathing suit and towel - there are big clean restrooms to change. Note: the pools are right near other residents' windows and we should behave reasonably quietly; talking is OK but not more than that. Rec room has a fridge and microwave if your food needs to be chilled or heated. Please bring folding chair if you have one, just in case it is needed (although there are 10 chairs in the RecRoom and several garden tables with chairs outside). Please do not bring alcohol. If you are new to Vegan Food Parties, please read the guidelines for more info and what you should bringhttp://www.BayAreaVeg.org/vfpdetails.htm Basically, a vegan food dish for six, your own place setting, and an autographed recipe/ingredient list for your contribution. VFP recipes are also featured on the BAV website http://www.bayareaveg.org/recipes.htm -- just send them to recipes Since Tammy & Chris encourage bringing games, I will bring the ancient game of Go. This game is 4000 years old and it never changed rules. Indeed, the rules are so simple and natural that the game is said to be discovered rather than invented and as such it is probably played throughout the Galaxy. It takes 2 minutes to learn and is immediately very enjoyable, but takes lifetime to master. I will be happy to show it to anyone interested and play teaching games, or if you happen to know it already we can play a serious game as well. This event is open to BAV members, and their guests, and to veg/non-veg people. Please just remember that each person should bring a vegan food dish that can provide 6 generous servings. Or for two people, 12 servings, and so forth. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me or call me at (408) 245-4928. The place is reasonably spacious so no RSVP is necessary. Mark Galecki mark_galeck Directions:Complex is located at: 330 N Mathilda Ave in Sunnyvale. The Recreation Room is off Mathilda Ave, right in the South-East corner of N Mathilda Ave and Indio Wy.
