Guest guest
When I heard about this, I thought that perhaps I'd send them an e- mail. I live in San Rafael, and up here in Marin there are virtually no restaurants for us to go to. Something in Larkspur would be really practical. However, I have not patronized Roxanne's for two reasons: 1) In the detailed philosophy published on their website, nowhere do they mention the health and happiness of animals as either a point to their diet, or even a pleasant side effect of a raw diet; nor do they mention (they're big on the environmental thing) how devastating the farm animal system is on the environment and how eating lower on the food chain stops that. You'd think there'd be at least one mention of animals.. 2) I rather resent being forced to pay $44 (without dessert or a drink) to eat anything at all. It's either $44 or nothing. How about letting people come and try a dish, for say, $15? We can't afford to spend over $100 without even knowing whether we'll like the food or not. Even the prices of their take-out stuff are ridiculous. I know they are in a very rich area of CA, but many of us vegans aren't rich. It seems to me that by doing these two things, they weren't trying to reach any vegans or vegetarians, but just trying to reach a target rich market worried about health with fancy food. I don't think there's anything wrong with reaching out to a new clientele - it's even admirable - but not if you alienate the obvious customers. There's my two cents.
