Guest guest
Friday, July 16 HELP! As of 3:15pm today we have a total of only FIVE people committed to take part in tomorrow's anti-rodeo demo in Salinas, 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. That's pretty pathetic, people. So where are all the would-be activists in this movement, pray? An animal-free diet is fine, of course, but that ain't enough. WE NEED BODIES! Yours? If not, then please call some of your pro-animal friends and urge their participation in this demo. Surely some of you know people who live in the Salinas/Monterey area. We have signs, banners and flyers to hand out. Now all we need is YOU. Calls to the media urging therm to cover the demo would be helpful, too. I've sent out a press release to Bay Area and Salinas/Monterey newspapers, TV and radio stations on Wednesday, which I'll repeat today and tomorrow. AFA ran an anti-rodeo ad in last Wednesday's SALINAS CALIFORNIAN, which will run again this Saturday (tomorrow). We apparently have some support at the paper, for they ran the Wednesday ad right next to a large pro-rodeo ad. Please don't let the animals down. If hardly anybody shows up for the demo, the message to the media is that nobody much cares. Do you? If so, please call Eric Mills at 510/652-5603; Judy Jones at 408/286-5204; or Alfredo Kuba at 650/965-8705. For the animals, Eric Mills, coordinator ACTION FOR ANIMALS tel. 510/652-5603
