Guest guest
Wow! That was quite an event! Thank you to everyone who came. I genuinely feel lucky to be a part of a community of such dynamic and good-hearted people. For those who missed it, this month we packed the restaurant about 2/3rds full for the dinner. It was very fun and lively. It was really nice having people brining their veggie kids. You guys have really cute kids! After dinner we had a showing of " The Witness, " a powerful animal rights documentary. This was the first time we've tried showing a movie. It turns out the Bay Leaf Café is a great environment for having small movie screenings. We raised 69$ in donations for " The Witness " witch will go to The Tribe of Heart, who made the film. Ed Lama, star of " The Witness, " will be at the San Francisco premier of Tribe of Hearts latest movie Peaceable Kingdom on July 30th. So check it out. http://www.tribeofheart.org/pk.htm A special thanks to Steve Hays for providing the audio system for the movie, Sirius for artistic direction, Ravi for free technical foam-board consulting, and always to the staff of Bay Leaf Café (specifically Cindy and Ravi) for hosting the movie and for their tireless work to make these dinners a success. I didn't see them stop running around until the movie was almost over. They work amazingly hard, putting 150% of their energy into the veggie cause. Chris and Tammy, our other tireless veggie team, have already got photo's of the event up here: http://www.bayareaveg.org/gallery/bayleaf0704 I'm already looking forward to seeing you all next month, and hopefully we'll see some new faces too. sobaysean
