Guest guest
I would HIGHLY recommend Cafe Eritrea D'Afrique - a staple of the Ethiopian/Eritrean community in Oakland - on Telegraph around 50th st. They have many vegetarian entrees and their hummus is out of this world - more tahini and cumin than Middle Eastern and definitely WAY better than the usual bland veggie store hummus. I highly recommend: collard greens, fava bean salad, carrot/potato dish, even the salad is really fresh and with a nice dressing. The injera is also amazing. And it's cheap - for $18, we get a veggie combo platter for two the size of Delaware that we can never even finish. I haven't asked yet whether they use oil or butter. Yeah, we're vegan and pretty strict but we decided we didn't want to know while we were eating the last time (just in case it was butter - we hadn't thought to ask before that). I posted a review with all the info on the Ultimate Guide.
