Guest guest
We're Niki and Jen, two creative women who are looking for a wonderful third roommate. We're both queer and involved in various artistic endeavors (performance, visual, writing). Ideally, we'd like to find a queer vegetarian roommate of any gender, but we're open to anyone who's kind, fun, and interesting. You know, the kind of person who'd go out Dancing for Democracy with us (one of the things we did w/ current roommate Beth during the S.F. mayoral election to encourage people to vote for a living wage and for Matt Gonzalez). The room that's available is the larger of two rooms on the top floor of a two-story house. The kitchen and shower are shared. The house has a back yard (you can garden if you like - we had tomatoes and squash, the walnut tree is getting heavy with fruit, and the small lemon tree is blooming), a large wonderful kitchen and living room, washer/dryer, skylights, hardwood floors, and is clean and sunny. Several MUNI lines run within a block of the house, including lines that go straight to BART, and Cortland St. is just a few blocks away. Rent is $650. About us: Jen is Asian, vegan, queer, and is involved in local activism (social justice, anti-war, animal rights, elections). She's an organizer with CJWP and used to be an organizer and teacher for the Do-It-Herself Collective. One day she'd like to support herself with her writing, but until that happens she makes do as a technical consultant for groups including labor unions, a small town, and a sex toy company. Niki is 30 years old. She just finished culinary school and is happy to be working in two restaurants specializing in seasonal, organic menus. She is also queer and an artist. At this point, Niki would describe herself as a cross between Lucille Ball and a monkey that loves to cook. Though she is not vegetarian, her cooking tends to be predominantly veggie around the house and she loves to share. She likes to meditate, read buddhist thought/poetry/stuff about sustainable agriculture, and think about food all the time! It is important to us to have a roommate who is honest and sincere, as our household is based on mutual respect and open communication. If this sounds like a good match for you, please e-mail us and let us know a little bit about yourself (and include your contact info)! Our e-mail addresses are: jenw and nikivalentine. If you have questions about the room, us, or are wondering how you can do your part to make the world a better place on November 2, you can call Jen at (415) 462-5623. No pets, smoking, or couples, please.
