Hello everyone,

Many of you likely remember reading about the horrific rabbit cruelty

case in Hayward and the rescue of thirty rabbits by House Rabbit Society

(with the help of the wonderful East Bay Animal Advocates!). As many of

you know, the rabbits entered HRS foster care some weeks ago and began

their road to recovery. I'm thrilled to tell you that they are doing

wonderfully in the loving foster care of Karen Courtemanche. Thanks to

her and other compassionate volunteers' tremendous help, they have been

cleared to be adopted into loving, permanent homes. If you or someone

you know can open your heart and home to a rescued Hayward rabbit,

please contact Karen at KLCourt.

Despite the horrors they endured before being rescued, the rabbits are

remarkably outgoing and loving. You can learn more about them at

http://rabbit.org/rabbit-center/hayward_rabbits.html . Please also

visit this page to view wonderful photos and stories about the

individual rabbits ... amazing volunteers ... and many new updates added

recently.

Thanks so very much for all of your assistance, donations, and

compassion for these rabbits. You can still help by volunteering,

making donations to their medical fund (we still need help with their

veterinary care!), adopting a rabbit, and passing on the word to friends

and family. We will also need assistance with writing letters as soon

as the case moves to the District Attorney ... we anticipate that this

will be soon, and we will keep you posted. In the meantime, please do

check out http://rabbit.org/rabbit-center/hayward_rabbits.html for lots

of information about the rescue.

Best Regards,

Erin
