Guest guest
Wow, this is strange. I'm wondering if they're better for take-out than for sit-down, and if it's hit or miss with items on their menu. I've only gone twice, both times take-away for lunch. This last Thursday I tried a burger there, I think it was called the urban burger; I saw the description for the manwich and thought the caramelized onions sounded unappealing and possibly an attempt to cover up a poor burger by smothering it with onions. I found the take-away urban burger pretty tasty, though certainly not enough of a meal on its own. But I also splurged on one of their wheat-free vegan brownies from the glass case at the checkout counter and was very impressed with that. It was humongous and really serves two people, even three, easily. Back to the urban burger, it had a tasty mustard-miso sauce, and some purple sauerkraut that was good too. I hope you will write to the owners, Kim, even though I've had better experiences the two times. I stopped going to the one on Fillmore, as I felt very out of place there for some reason. But the experiences you and others describe remind me of my first experiences at both Golden Era and at Shangri-La, both of which I did not patronize for a long time because of some items on their menu that I found absolutely revolting and insulting. I learned eventually that were more worthwhile things on the menus at these places. Maybe UF will go through some kind of learning curve, but only with honest customer feedback from dissatisfied customers. This can only make it a better place for all of us, so thank you Kim.
