All,

This movie, from beacondv.org (order it from http://www.bookch.com/9005.htm) just came in the mail today. It gives an excellent 2 hour video on the health reasons (and face it, sometimes that is how you reach people), environmental and then much later in the movie, the cruelty reasons, for adopting a plant based diet.

I've seen so far "Peaceable Kingdom", "Diet for a New America", and "Witness", and this one so far seems to be to be the one most likely to reach the fellow corporate sleepyheads I work with, anyway.

If you buy ONE movie to show those you love, for their health alone, I can't urge you enough to buy one for yourself and to pass it on. This movie is complete; it is scientific, it shows the insanity of our current system, the gov't subsidies, the health issues, and the kindness we should show to ourselves, or neighbors, and the animals - from cancer to vivisection, from heart disease to pork barrels, it draws parallels from the "cigarette brands doctors favor - Camels!" and how modern medicine is 20 years behind the times, to the depletion of the worlds oceans and aquifers. Am I gushing? See it for yourself!

Free screenings at my home in So. SF available anytime; call ahead to arrange. Free beer and popcorn!

Hey Julie ,

I agree, "Eating" is an excellent video to show to people who are not enlightened about veganism especially because it covers most issues involved in a vegan diet and many people who are not compassionate may at least be interested in improving their health. I ordered 5 copies of the DVD and gave them away to my non-vegan friends.

I also think Peaceable Kingdom is extremely well made in that it paints such a compelling argument for the compassionate argument. I can't imagine anyone not walking away from that film and not being moved. As most of you know there will be a screening of Peaceable Kingdom at the Herbst Theater on July 30. I highly recommend everyone attend and bring at least one friend. I for one am inviting every non-vegan I know to go.

Take care

Hi,

Yes, Peaceable Kingdom was wonderful -- I hear they cut 7 minutes and tightened it up. I am going on July 30...
