Hi Dave,

My wife and I are McDougallers.

There are many SF restaurants that serve whole food vegan low-fat

items, especially if you mention your dietary preferences to the

staff.

To name just a few:

Ananda Fuara

Cafe Gratitude

Herbivore

Urban Forage

Lombard Coffee Shop

Golden Era Vegetarian

Shangrila

New Ganges

Maharani (McDougall is mentioned on the menu)

Amira

There is no Fresh Choice in SF. Perhaps you're thinking of the one in

Corte Madera.

Virtually all whole foods contain fat. Even Romaine lettuce is 12% fat

in calories. Perhaps you mean " no added fat. "

the restaurants there have a separate McDougall menu (vegan-no-fat).

They took us to two good ones: Gary Chu's Chinese on 5th St. and

California Thai on 7th St.

However we are having trouble getting good McDougall meals in S.F. Are

there any McDougallers in S.F. and do you know of any restaurants

where we can eat vegan and no-fat? The only ones we found are Fleur de

Lys, which has an Ornish menu (same as McDougall), but it's extremely

expensive, and Fresh Choice, but you have to pick out the vegan,

no-fat dishes. We can go to Mexican and Thai and get McDougall meals,

but it's hard. <
