It is especially pertinent in view of the recent debate on this site about whether or not to talk to strangers about being vegan. Here is Esta's email: Hello Vegan Friends, I had a cool thing happen to me today and wanted to share it with fellow vegans who would be excited with me. While buying some potting soil at our local garden shop today, I handed the woman a Farm Sanctuary credit card to pay for my purchase. She immediately said, " I know you. I want to talk to you. " She did not look at all familiar to me. When she loaded my bag of soil into my trunk, she said, " You once shopped here before and used this credit card. I commented on the cute photo of the little cow and you said 'do you eat those?' That comment of yours made me stop and think about it. I used to be vegetarian years ago but had gotten away from it. When you said what you did, it planted a seed, and I started to think about why I was eating cows. Then I went to the film you had at the college called " EATING " and ever since then, I have become vegan and so has my husband. I wanted to talk to you after the film, but had to get home. I just wanted to thank you for bringing all of this back to my consciousness. " WOW! She totally made my day! Just goes to show, you never know what seeds you are planting when you talk about veganism with people. Incidentally, she has purchased several copies of the video and has been showing it to others.
