Guest guest
Hi folks, Bay Area Vegetarians is having an info table at the upcoming Pride Festival in San Francisco. Pride is one of the largest events in California, and attracts several hundred thousand attendees from all parts of the Bay Area and throughout the world. Folks who attend the Pride Festival are "typically" progressive and open-minded, and very receptive to the info that we provide. Our table will have lots of great information on reasons & benefits of a plant-based diet (including info on how awful factory farming is) as well as delicious vegan cookie samples (thanks to our friends at Sun Flour Baking). It's a great crowd to leaflet with Why Vegans. The late Polly Strand leafleted last year wearing a Halloween style cow costume, and I think it would be wonderful to make that an annual tradition, in her honor and memory. So we've got a cow costume (given to a friend of ours by Polly), now all we need is someone to wear it! Photos from last year's Pride table http://www.bayareaveg.org/gallery/pride03/ If you can help leaflet, with or without the cow costume, do show up! The 'public' hours for Pride are Sat noon-6 pm and Sunday noon-7 pm. Sunday is the busier/crazier day of the two since that's when the parade happens. Would like to get one or maybe two more people to leaflet on Sunday... You're welcome to BYOL (Bring Your Own Literature), or if you let us know in advance that you'll be joining us, we'll provide "Why Vegans" to the first couple of folks that respond. (I will confirm the latter arrangement via reply email) We'll also be there early both mornings to set-up and throughout the day if anyone wants to stop by and say hello.... Guest guest
Someone asked "When" is Pride -- it's this weekend, 6/26 & 6/27 Someone else asked "Where" will BAV be... our booth space is M2 (putting on Fulton between Larkin and Hyde, near Asian Art Museum, San Francisco). The actual event is over several blocks in the Civic Center plaza area... Look for the big "Bay Area Vegetarians" banner! Also, I encourage folks to take BART; use the Civic Center station. Thanks, Tammy Tammy [t]Wednesday, June 23, 2004 9:06 PMBAV mail list; BAV events list; baarn SF Pride this weekend! Can you help leaflet?
