Guest guest
Stars Veggie, the vegetarian crêperie (mostly) in Berkeley (1805 Euclid, near Hearst) has new summer hours. They're not open on weekends during the summer, but they are open longer hours during weekdays: 10:30am - 8pm. Just cautioning those who might attempt a weekend visit... One note of warning for those attempting a weekday visit: The sign near the entrance listing prices for " combination rice plates " should not be interpreted as including rice. Hahaha, silly customer. Nope, I think whoever created that sign liked the way the words sounded, but seemed to lack an understanding of what they mean in a typical restaurant. To the guy working at Stars, this means the price is for a dish without rice - for items on their own. Rice is additional. So, expect to pay as much as 36% more for a dish, for it to be a real " combination rice plate " . Clever, no? Ah, how I yearn for that day when people use words mean what they're supposed to mean. Until then, I'm skipping Stars for awhile - maybe until I get bored with every other restaurant in Berkeley. Back to Cha-Ya (1686 Shattuck) and Tanaka Sushi (2067 University, whose vegetarian Godzilla roll is delectable)... By the way, nearby Brewed Awakening (1807 Euclid) has free wireless internet access (Surf and Sip service), in case you're seeking a cup o' java along with your javascript, or vice versa.
