Guest guest
Do you love primates and want to help? Then join the San Francisco Reception for the Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center in Cameroon. A project of In Defense of Animals-Africa, the Center provides a home to over 40 chimpanzees, most orphaned by poachers. It also runs an active campaign against the bush meat trade, which, along with habitat destruction, is pushing chimpanzees and other Great Apes to the brink of extinction. The reception is Saturday June 26 from 5 - 7 p.m. at San Francisco's premier, gourmet vegetarian restaurant, Millennium. The sanctuary's founder, Dr. Sheri Speede, will be on hand from Africa to give a DVD presentation about her important work. For details and ticket information, see http://tinyurl.com/2goju There are fewer than 150,000 chimpanzees left in Africa. If things do not change, chimpanzees -- humankind's closet genetic cousins -- will be wiped off the face of the Earth in less than half a century. Won't you help by supporting IDA-Africa at this important, educational and enjoyable event? For more information contact 415/898-2720. Thanks!
