Guest guest
This is exactly the kind of info we should have in UG (Ultimate Guide to Vegetarian Living in the Bay Area)... By putting details like this in UG, we make this info accessible to everyone -- today, tomorrow, next week... Not just for folks who read that message today. The nice thing about UG is that it is an automated process that allows everyone to submit data. http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug Thanks, Tammy ------- Re: Digest Number 938 N L <grrlburn Fri, May 21, 2004 10:24 am Hi Lisa, I work in the Civic Center area and the lack of healthy veggie options is sad. Some of the places I frequent: Cafe do Brasil (Franklin & Lily) is pretty good. They have a vegetarian (it's vegan too) plate with beans, rice, grilled veggies and an awesome yucca topping, plus a fresh fruit drink of the day. I believe they also have a veg soup. Mandarin Villa is up the block a little further (Franklin & Oak), on the corner. Their kung pao tofu and hoison long beans are both excellent, and they serve brown rice. They have assured me that the veg dishes have nothing suspect in them, but it never hurts to confirm. One of my latest finds is Soluna (a little sketchy on the name). It's on McAllister & Larkin, near where the old Millennium used to be. They have a portobello sandwich that is fantastic (minus cheese, of course), plus spicy fries and a salad. There is also a vegan pasta option on the menu. This place would be my choice for a slightly classier dinner that's not too expensive. They also have great soy lattes! Hope this helps, Nicole > Hi. Does anybody know of restaurants where one can > get a good vegan meal for > dinner on Wednesdays in the Civic Center area.
