I WANT YOUR BODY! Figuratively, at least. And please call five of your

friends about this.

The long awaited hearing re the proposed ordinance to ban wild animal

acts and exhibits at the Alameda County Fair is scheduled for TUESDAY,

MAY 18, 11:30 A.M., AT THE ALAMEDA COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 1221

OAK STREET (between 12th and 13th Streets), OAKLAND, CA 94612. The

hearing will be before the " Fair Liaison Committee " of the Board of

Supervisors, comprised of Supervisors Scott Haggerty and Keith Carson.

(There's always the possibility that the hearing could be cancelled for

some reason, as happened last year. If you plan to attend the hearing,

I would suggest that you call the County Clerk the day of the hearing to

confirm: 510/272-6347.)

Our people are being given only 10 minutes to present our case, and I

have our three witnesses lined up, so I'm afraid you'll not be able to

speak, unfortunately. (Good time to deliver written testimony,

though.) IT'S VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE HAVE A LARGE NUMBER OF SUPPORTERS

PRESENT TO SHOW THE SUPERVISORS THAT THE GENERAL PUBLIC WANTS THIS

ORDINANCE ADOPTED NOW.

PLEASE CONFIRM WITH ME THAT YOU'LL BE THERE FOR THE ANIMALS. The

hearing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., at the end of the regular weekly

Board meeting, which begins at 10:00 a.m. I WOULD ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO

BE THERE AT 11:00 A.M.

For the animals,

Eric Mills, coordinator

tel. 510/652-5603
