Hi Dave

 

I disagree. It all depends on which angle you come at this from. IMHO the

superset is vegan as ALL vegetarians shouldn't have a problem eating vegan

food (excluding alergies and preferences), and therefore they are in the

set vegan when dining, but most vegans would not fall in the set

vegetarian. Just the same as we're all raw when eating an apple - even a

meat eater ;)

Correct. Let's define the set X = people who happily eat vegan food items

and Y = people who happily eat vegetarian food items.

 

For any person p, p is in Y implies p is in X, thus Y is a subset of X.

 

Now, Taking the sets X = foods that vegans are willing to eat and Y = foods that

vegetarians are willing to eat,

clearly X is a subset of Y since for any food f, f is in X implies f is in Y.

 

Wonder if we can find an example of Russell's paradox that applies to veganism?
