How to Nominate a Group for Funding

If you know a nonprofit group doing exceptional work in one of our five issue areas, then nominate them to receive funding in 2005. Simply contact the organization yourself and ask them to send the following documents to:

Note: To be considered for funding in 2005, all nominations must be received by June 30, 2004.

 

What to Send:

 

* Cover letter referencing your name as only customers can nominate

* Proof of nonprofit status

* 2003 annual report with financial statements

 

Funding Eligibility

The organization must be national or international in scope, have at least one year of proven effectiveness, and work in one of the following five issue areas:

 

* Civil Rights

* Economic & Social Justice

* Environment

* Peace & International Freedom

* Education & Freedom of Expression

 

(Sorry, we do not fund groups that are local in scope, raise awareness of or research a particular disease, or work within a specific religion or denomination.)

 

Distributing the Donations

After an independent foundation evaluates the effectiveness of the hundreds of nominees, Working Assets employees and board of directors select the groups for our annual donations ballot. Customers then vote on how to distribute the donations among the finalists. Working Assets pays all administrative costs, so every dollar in our donations program goes directly to the 50 nonprofit groups you helped select.
