Guest guest
Hey, all you would-be activists! The May ACTION FOR ANIMALS calendar is hot off the press. I'd be happy to send you a sample copy in hopes of getting you to sign on as a regular r ($20/year). Or maybe buy a gift subscription for a friend. The May issue contains the usual listing of Bay Area activities pertaining to animals, plus an essay by A.R. guru, Tom Regan, " Animal Rights--isn't that extreme?, " info on a new series of ongoing ads ( " ANIMAL THOUGHTS " ) in the Oakland TRIBUNE (Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays) featuring pro-animal quotations from famous people throughout history (and the present). Also included is an alert regarding the scheduled May 18 hearing before the Alameda County Board of Supervisors on the proposed ban on wild animal acts at the County Fair and elsewhere in the county. AND an alert about a proposed " bloodless bullfight " (part of a " religious festival, " if you can believe it, courtesy of the California Rodeo) in Salinas on June l3, and suggestions on ways you can help stop this nonsense. So what's not to like? E-mail me or call in your snail mail address, and I'll be happy to send you a free copy. GET ACTIVE! Please forward this to anyone you think might be interested. Thanks. Cheers, Eric Mills, coordinator ACTION FOR ANIMALS tel. 510/652-5603
