Guest guest
Hi SFBAVEG-folks, I'm running an errand in Half Moon Bay tonight for a bit, after which I'll be returning to Oakland. What are some good restaurants near there (or not too far off my route) that: 1. are vegan or vegan-friendly, 2. maybe offer beer/wine, 3. maybe use organic ingredients? I appreciate your suggestions! Thanks, Sandra Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at HotJobs http://hotjobs.sweepstakes./careermakeover
Guest guest
We live very close to Half Moon Bay and it's sad to say that veggie options are very limited - and if you're vegan like us then there's virtual nothing. Which is sad as there's something like 40-50 eateries in the general area. If you're vegetarian and not vegan then you may want to try one of the following - Pasta Moon Two Fools Cafe If vegan you could try Moonside Bakery which if still doing pizzas can make them w/o cheese. If you end up running late and just want a quick snack then you could try Oasis Natural Food Store which usually has fresh home made vegan soup each day. BTW all of these places are on Main Street within a few blocks of each other. A bit further north along hwy 1 in El Granada there's Cafe Gibraltar which we've had some luck at as the chef/owner used to work at a veggie restaurant. Depending on your route home, you may want to stop in San Francisco, e.g. Herbivores on 21st and Valenica is easy to get to from 280 and on the way to the Bay Bridge. Just hope off 280 at San Jose Ave and keep going until you hit 21st and take a right.
