Please write a letter to the SF Examiner re: the cruelty of foie gras. Seems there's a growing backlash since John Burton's efforts to ban foie gras.

 

As for Unterman's comment at the end, she clearly anticipates people's consciences being sparked by her article since foie gras is notoriously cruel, but she tries to dismiss it as just another factorty-farming practice (which she says "we should all think twice about" as she orders a second helping of foie gras). In fact, none of the other foods she mentions are produced through the obscenely cruel force-feeding process, and none have been banned in over a dozen countries like foie gras has

Patricia Unterman is a hack for the foie gras industry. Before our

investigation came out (www.APRL.org), she wrote a piece for the Examiner

completely misrepresenting how foie gras is produced. Sonoma Foie Gras

still links to that article on their site, www.sonomafoiegras.org.
