Dear Animal Companions, Vigilers, Lovers, and Liberators:

 

Am sorry to say that Calle, an Asian elephant at SF Zoo, was euthanized (i.e., killed) over the weekend. There will be no candlelight vigil - at least not this weekend. However, there will be a demonstration from Noon till about 2 pm this Saturday, March 13, organized by activists on behalf of the 3 remaining elephants (1 Asian and 2 African elephants). Animal Rights Activists will be pressuring the zoo to release these elephants to a sanctuary where they can be better cared for.
