OK to be late, cause it’s a buffet. I will be wearing a red jacket and have a cell phone on the table. Bring warm clothes, this place can get cold. After dinner walk l/2 block to get a raw fruit pie take-out at: Reggae Runnins Village Store & Restaurant V * 505 Divisadero St 415-922-2442 This is a great African/Carribean place, and I think almost everything is vegan except for a few non-homemade pastries. Recommended items, daily stew, especially Okra stew, with BROWN rice, homemade ginger beers (soda), mango lassi made with FRESH mangos. This Monday Empress Sarah will have available for us for sale, special $8 JERK sauce that is homemade. They have a NEW vegan menu out. I will probably post a last minute dining out at this place too. == I'm doing a lot of dining out cause aspiring vegetarians are asking for advice and recommendations for a place to eat. I hope everyone will also support our local vegetarians restaurants Bangkok Thai Express-correct spelling 857-4th St, Lootens , the cross streets are small streets that are very hard to find in a map San Rafael 415 453 3350 Due to modeling of their buffet table, no $8 lunch buffets until March XX . It was very sad to find out that most of the “vegetarian” items have fish sauce in it. If you don’t ask them to take out the fish sauce, you’ll end up eating it. After many exhausting questions, I found out their buffet menu mostly has fish sauce in it. The waitress said they’ll try to make an exception for us veggies. (I think it might be hard in a buffet situation, but we’ll see) The restaurant has been around for a while, I think they know by now fish is not vegetarian. Let’s all educate the OWNER, not to use fish sauce or at least print it in the menu. Their regular lunch menu is actually also their dinner menu. Average $8 for a lunch entrée. -- Paradise, 4th Street/D St in San Rafael, has a new owner as of last August. He told me that the fried spring rolls and won ton are vegan. -- Roxanne, Magnolia St, in Larkspur finished adding 2 small dining rooms.
