Job title: Education Outreach Coordinator

 

Job description: Responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

Coordinate the About Building Compassion campaign (ABC) (entails working on alternative projects for 4-H and Future Farmer’s of America school agriculture programs). Coordinate the Food for Thought campaign - - encouraging shelters to adopt vegetarian policy. Represent Animal Place at events, conferences and legislative meetings. Assist with media relations (writing and distributing press releases) Assist with sanctuary events (i.e., farm tours, open house events, veggie cook-off, etc.).

Help develop, coordinate, and carry out advocacy campaigns. Coordinate Action E-alerts.

 

Work site: The position does not entail having to work at the sanctuary although office space is available. However, employee must be available to meet with director on monthly basis at the sanctuary. Additionally, employee must provide own transportation, be computer literate, have her/his own computer, and access to Email.

 

Salary: Negotiable; Standard benefit package (vacation, holidays, sick time and medical plan)

 

Starting date: Immediately

Animal advocacy background Knowledge of factory farming issues Good organizational skills Self motivator Interest in and commitment to animal protection and vegetarianism Public speaking skills Writing skills
