Guest guest
Does anyone have a Vegan cookbook they like and would particularly recommend (that would still be in print)? Something with really good main dishes, with ingredients that are kind of on the simple side. Maybe somewhat simple but really good recipes. Drop me an e-mail directly, if you've got any good suggestions. Thanks, Jeff Finance: Get your refund fast by filing online

I have the first edition (spiral bound) and it's so well-used, that some of the pages are falling out.... I've found all the recipes to be very simple and delicious. And the ingredients are all stuff that you can by at Safeways or any grocery store. I also have friends who are big fans of the cookbook, and we once had a "Peaceful Palate" recipes only potluck. It was delicious..... This is a cookbook that I have recommended to both veg & non-veg people. I also have friends who like Vegan Vittles by Joanne Stepaniak. I've tasted dishes that used that recipe book and they were yummy, too. I've found that local libraries usually have copies if you want to peruse before buying them. And, BAV also has a few copies of both cookbooks that we sell at 25% off list price... We usually have them only at outreach events but if I know I'll be seeing you somewhere, I'm happy to bring it along. If anyone has any recommendations for great vegan cookbooks, I am also interested as we maintain a list on the Bay Area Veg website. Many are cookbooks that we've personally used; others have been recommended to us. http://www.bayareaveg.org/best-cookbooks.htm Cheers, Tammy
Guest guest
Jeff/Tammy, Add How It All Vegan and The Garden of Vegan by Tanya Barnard and Sarah Kramer (http://www.govegan.net/) to the list. Fun books, really easy to make/follow recipes that taste great. Even my partner who really only knew how to boil water for pasta, pour a bowl of cereal and make a green salad has made some of these dishes for us on occasion with very successful results! We were both proud! These are some of the best vegan cook books I've found for every day dining and baking. The Farm Vegetarian Cookbook one of the original books for inexpensive, made from scratch vegan menus - it is quite good for every day hippie-type fare. For more complicated but very tasty meals, I like to adapt the vegetarian, NOT vegan Greens cookbooks (Greens and Fields of Greens) to vegan and enjoy The Millennium Cookbook and the Now and Zen Epicure, both from local restaurants (former for Now and Zen, but they still make and sell food items in stores). Hope this helps! Kasie > Does anyone have a Vegan cookbook they like and would > particularly recommend (that would still be in print)?
