Guest guest
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has recommendations on Korean restaurants in the SF or South Bay areas. Have I missed them, or are there not many in the area? Sfgate.com has reviews for only 10, from Cotati to Walnut Creek to Palo Alto. The list at sfweekly.com is even shorter. I'm sure it's too much to ask for a veggie Korean restaurant (I never saw one until Hangawi in NYC - a veg restaurant nonpareil!), so mainstream is fine with me. I don't know if others have this bias, but I prefer places with good ventilation. It can be distracting to smell so much beef on the grills. By the way, Seoul Garden in Japantown has an interesting notion of vegetarian - beef, chicken, eggs, and fish are included in their vegetarian menu. They're not alone - I've recently encountered 3 or 4 vegetarian cookbooks that include fish and chicken in their recipes. It's really kind of strange that booksellers stock such nonsense. Anyway, thanks in advance for any Korean restaurant suggestions! David
