rediculouse adventure in animal aid

today while i was walking home, i saw a stray dog. He was limping,

although not perfusly, and didn't look clean. It was on my street,

and the first thing i did when i got in my house was to look for a

number to call to help him out. I looked im my phone book, and

there were two numbers. Nither of which had people on the other

end, so i fallowed insturcions and found one person, and she sent me

to another answering machine with an aulternat number at the end.

The last number i called was the palo alto police, and they were

rude about it and wouldn't help unless i had the dog captive.

Finally i just walked over to my police stashon which is luckily 3

blocks away. They gave me a phone and dialed me up the number of

the dispach person. By that time the dog had been long gone(maby an

hour later), but they went looking for it *luckily*.

 

has anyone else had truble getting help for animals? I thought it

was absurd how little informatoin i could get out of a phone book.
