Most of us know about the horrors of industrial agriculture. But few people know about a grassroots movement underway in Iowa to bring about a humane and sustainable farming future. On Tuesday, February 10th, at the Commonwealth Club, you will have an opportunity to learn about it. The Care 4 Iowa Campaign is coming to the San Francisco Bay Area!

The Humane Society of the United States National Campaign Coordinator for Farm Animals and Sustainable Agriculture Programs, Christopher Bedford, along with activist farmer Jerry Rosman, will speak about mad cow, the industrialization of Farm Animal Production and what they are doing to transform the landscape.

In two years, Chris has accomplished some remarkable things including: commissioning the first ever state-wide poll of Iowa residents regarding their thoughts on humane & sustainable farming and consumer choices; has organized the first-ever Humane & Sustainable Congress in Sioux City, and organized a grassroots coalition bringing environmental, religious, labor and animal advocates together for this common cause.

Please come and learn more about how this campaign is working to free animals, farmers, Iowa residents, and consumers from factory farm practices.
