I was on the verge of signing up for this event myself. When I saw that there was $30 entrance fee I emailed IDA to ask where that money was going, but no one got back to me. Thank you for filling me in on the details. I would be really interested to hear how IDA came to be involved with such an event?? Thanks again, Michelle. Best wishes, Joanna Warner Michelle Tsai <michsai Be careful what you register for. Hi Everyone, PLEASE WATCH OUT, whenever you are thinking of signing up for any fundraising sports event, where your registration fee will actually go. For instance, the registration fee for the Feb. 1 San Francisco Home Depot Half Marathon & 5K actually goes to the Northern California Hemophiliac Society, which is a branch of the National Hemophilia Foundation, which helps fund vivisection. Very ironic and disappointing. I learned my lesson too late. I already registered for the event, and even tried to encourage other people to do so, thinking the money would go to In Defense of Animals (IDA). I only found out where the money went after I received my registration confirmation. If you wish to donate, just donate to IDA directly. Don't register for the event in SF. For a list of charities that do or don't fund vivisection, please visit http://www.humaneseal.org/approved.html Thanks and best wishes to all of you.
