Guest guest
HI Everyone, I realize not everyone may have an issue about rabbit being served on the menu at restaurants, but I am passing along this information in case this is a topic that interests or concerns you. The January 11, 2004 San Francisco Chronicle Magazine features a restaurant review for "Town Hall " restaurant at 342 Howard Street in San Francisco. 415-908-3900. The Chef- owners are Mitchell and Steven Rosenthal and the maitre'd /manager is Doug Washington. The reviewer for the Chronicle is Michael Bauer and his email is mbauer The chronicle magazne's editor's email is email is magazine The editor is Alison Biggar. Here is a section of Mr. Bauer's review: "Trio Sonoma rabbit ($19) , the best of the nine main courses, has a more Italian pedigree. The loin is roasted, the saddle is wrapped in bacon and the leg is braised and served on herb polenta with chanterelles moistened with natural juices and a drizzle of herb -garlic butter." The article features a photo of an "artfully" arranged plate of rabbit pieces with sauce and garnish. I will be writing a polite letter to the magazine and the restaurant reminding them that the same type of domestic bunny they serve on the menu is also available as a companion to a loving home--- just like cats and dogs. I may even include a photo of one or two of our rabbits and explain how they prefer to have their "loin" and "saddle" kissed and snuggled, rather than roasted and wrapped in bacon--but we'll see ...! I just wanted pass this info along if it is something you want to speak up about. On behalf of the rabbits, we thank you!
