The National Sustainable Consumption Committee is rolling

out a " plug and

play " campaign for Groups and Chapters to educate our

members and the public

about how their consumption habits affect our Planet.

The message is: Low on the food chain, organic and locally

grown.

THE PROJECT COMPONENTS ARE:

1. To convince local food retail outlets to sell more

organic and locally

grown foods.

2. To create events around " Sustainable Tuesday. " One day a

week, we will

try to create fun events to encourage folks to live more

sustainably (car

pool, bike or walk to work, eat sustainably, use less

energy, etc.)

3. Sierra Club restaurant outings on Tuesday evenings.

Prearranged organic,

vegetarian, locally grown dinners.

We will provide literature, training, personal mentoring and

(eventually) a

video.

Please contact Gordon LaBedz, GLaBedzMD if you know

ANYONE in your

area, Club member or not, who would be interested in this

campaign.==

p.s. I think this is in the East Bay Oakland area, but there's no limit on

where to promote this campaign
