Guest guest
Tues, Jan 6, 1:30pm (you can eat earlier) 53-3rd St/Market and Mission, l/2 block from BART I'll probably be there at 1pm, it depends what time I get out of a meeting. If you want to eat earlier order from Barry, the nice owner. Manatory RSVP by Tue, 10am, if you are coming so the owner can make us a special vegan meal, with no shrimp paste, no fish sauce or eggs.. I think the special single entree will cost around $5. It won't be expensive. -- It is very hard to find vegetable entrees at a Filipino Restaurant. I always make a point to stop by as many heavy meat restaurants like Filipino or Vietnamese Restaurant and ask " do you serve ANY vegetarian food " . I almost always get the word " No " , (SHOCKING HUH??) then I'll say " please have more vegetarian entrees, so I can come eat here next time. I am a vegetarian. " I give them a nice smile before I leave the place. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I think, restaurants NOW will add more vegetarian entrees to their menu. == Asian Noodle Soups, top favorites listed first Golden Era, 3-4 varieties, one which is SUPER HOT, Paradise has pretty much the same soup menu cause the Golden Era trained Paradise's chef. Hulu House, Laksa-Spicy coconut soup beats their wonton soup. Vege House, SF (maybe Oakland too)-Vietnamese hot and sour soup comes with sponge vegetable $3.50, their beef soup is too salt for my taste, thanks Janice for reminding me to try the soup there Paradise, San Rafael, same as Golden Era, the Red spicy soup killed me Sunflower Mission/16th St, SF -veg Friendly, lots of fresh vegetables in the soup, it's not as exciting as others, but still very good for $6.50 a bowl. Make sure they don't forget to give you the raw sprouts. THIS ENTREE WAS ADDED TO THE MENU BECAUSE IT WAS REQUESTED BY MANY CUSTOMERS. Herbivore-I told the owner I was disappointed. He said he'll do something. about it. I haven't had their soup for over 2 years now, so I can't really rate the quality. Does anyone know any other GREAT Asian Soup places in SF area? <My friend Anh wants to know where to get PHO in the SJ area. == Great News! the coffee shop,on Hyde and Ofarrell SOLD OUT their vegan, organic pastries on Sat. The pastries are made by Derrick. Fear not, the dessert breads were available for sale at Juicy Lucy's, SF - small slices $2. Vegan Pies-4 varieties, available to order at $19 each. == I might plan a hike at Muir woods to show veg and non-vegetarians, rare wild salmon spawning in the streams. I do this so people can understand how precious these creatures are and maybe they will think twice before eating a fish/animal. The salamons has touched many people's hearts. sorry I lump all my emails together. I figured most folks know I write quite a bit and I figured if you are interested, you'll read till the bottom of my message. signature: Holiday events are listed below, please do not ask me, Everyday someone is asking me for info.
