Guest guest
....are the vege soups at Vege House, in San Francisco's Richmond District. Located on Sixth Avenue, between Geary and Clement. Look for the big green awning outside, it's a tiny place inside. $4.95 for a huge bowl of vege pho, three flavors: regular, 'beef', and hot and sour. Can get it to go or eat there. Comes with the usual huge platter of mung sprouts, basil branches and chili peppers. Of course, there's always the equally astonomically huge soup at Hulu House, I think it's maybe a buck more. Kirkham and 12th in the Sunset district, just on the other side Golden Gate Park, one block from the N-Judah streetcar, 3 blocks from the 6, 66, 43 and 44 bus lines. Guest guest
For those in the south bay, especially if you go to school or work in downtown San Jose, I highly recommend the tofu vegetable soup at Good Karma Vegan House (322 E. Santa Clara St. between 7th and 8th). This tiny vegan place has the the most delicious and filling soup and it always makes me feel better on a cold day. The soup is $5 for a HUGE bowl and is full of healthy veggies such as bok choy, broccoli and carrots, and different types of tofu- soft, baked, etc, as well as vegan noodles and a delicious broth. Plus the owners are really sweet and friendly. Peace, Laurie
