vegan food can be affordable--

#1 $1 Vietnamese Sandwiches at

Dackao Sandwiches II

72 South Abel St

Milpitas, CA 95035

408 946 3668

7am-9pm everyday

Includes pickled carrots, white turnip, jalapeno peppers, parsley,

soy sauce and mayo-which you can ask them to take out

I highly recommend paying 50 cents extra for fried tofu to make it a

#2 $1.50 tofu sandwich. The vegetarian items are fried separately

from the meat items.

#3 Spring Rolls made with rice paper (not fried), ask them to make a

vegan version for you by using " fried tofu that looks like shredded

pork " . I personally don't like the " shredded pork " cause it's a bit

dry for me. I just ask for the regular fried tofu. $2.50 for 3

Spring Rolls, includes 2 tubs of peanut sauce. The sauce is made from

Hoisin sauce, vinegar, peanuts, garlic and chili. (I think that's

it, but I confirmed it's vegan with NO fish sauce) You are paying

~85 cents per Spring roll rather than $1.50 at other Restaurants.

This roll comes out different every time, cause there's no set recipe

since I'm one of the few people who special orders it. I recommend

that you ask them NOT to stir fried the turnips. I rather have it

raw.

#4 Green Papaya Salad ~$3.50 The owner, Thuong, said only she can do

this for you cause the other workers are not familar with it. THe

salad will have fried tofu instead of pork. The sauce is soy

sauce...and vinegar.

#5 Vietnames Salad ~$3.50 As for the vegan version. I never order

this salad cause pretty much it has all the ingrediants in my $1

sandwich. Carrots, turnip etc..

The prices are low due to competition in the surround areas. I've

been here for 10 years and they never raised the price.

The food is clean. I never got sick from their food.

food

served 5pm till ~9pm,

It was really worth it. The owner, who waited on me, kept asking if

I wanted more I said no. I only ate 2 servings. I was told most

people only ate 2 servings. (I honestly think the ladies can eat an

average of 2 servings but the men can eat more)

It's a game we play. We try to get our money's worth by pigging out,

while, the owners are hoping they can make some sort of profit or not

go bankrupt.

I found out why they can charge so little for the food. They hope

when you're waiting for the food, you'll drink 5 bottles of beer or

something like that.

When my food came out, the portions were not as large as I wanted to

be (small in fact). I think the more you wait for seconds servings,

the more you'll DRINK!

Overall I recommend folks to try it out. The lentils were Above

Spicy. The other items were not.

Read below a review from another veggie who went to the buffet.

Dear Veggiegirl,

Club Waziema does serve vegan food. The food is good, but the music is

loud and after a few " all-you-can-eat " orders, they told me I could

not have any more. However, they relented when I assertively

complained. (-:

Eat All U Want for $6.50 Veg Combo

Ethopian Food Club Waziema for the past 6 months has a very

inexpensive menu selection. Based on ingrediants listed on the menu,

the veg combo looks vegan or it can be made vegan. The owner of the

restaurant is a very nice person. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the

food is good. On a Thursday night at 6pm, the restaurant had 7

customers, whereas Herbivore which is on the same block had 18

customers. Please post how's the food. Club Waziema (looks like a bar

served 5pm till 10pm,
