Examining Humanity's Alienation from Nature, Animals and Each Other

------

Come join us for an evening with grassroots animal liberationists Kelah Bott and

David Hayden for a discussion of humanity's alienation from nature and the

commodification of our relations with other animals, our environment, and each

other. This commodification of our relationships de-prioritizes more fundamental

values such as compassion. The resulting fallout includes consumer behavior

patterns that are destroying our natural world and creating a mass extinction of

virtually unheard of proportions. Western culture has closed its eyes not only

to the long term effects of its values, but also to the industrialized

exploitation and abuse of animals and humans. If the human species is to survive

yet another 10,000 years we must fundamentally rethink how we relate to the

natural world, rejecting consumerism, racism, sexism, speciesism, homophobia,

and all the other facets of this " dominionistic " mindset. Come join the

discussion!
