Hi Everyone,

If you want to make an immediate difference in the life of an animal who was

abandoned, abused or neglected, please consider volunteering with our

organization. We are the San Francisco/Marin County Chapter for the House Rabbit

Society, a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing domestic

rabbits who are about to be euthanized at shelters. See www.SaveABunny.com

Why rabbits?

Did you know that rabbits are the third most frequently euthanized animals at

shelters behind cats and dogs?

Rabbits can be bought for a few dollars at pet stores, and then are typically

dumped in record numbers when the novelty wears off. In addition, unlike

other companion animals, they are typically classified as livestock and are

eaten,

experimented on and slaughtered for their meat and fur.

Rabbits are highly intelligent, sensitive, loving and opinionated little

beings who can learn their names, love to play with toys and can learn to use a

litterbox. They are as affectionate and smart as cats and dogs, and are also

vegan. Domestic rabbits are not the same as wild cottontails and hares. They

need

to be spayed/ neutered, and live inside the house as part of the family.

We are an eleventh hour rescue for rabbits at shelters, foster and adoption

center and educational resource for the community.

We need reliable, compassionate, and responsible volunteers to help clean

their living quarters, groom them, and give them lots of kisses and attention.

We also need help with transportation, answering phone and email messages and

outreach Do you have a particular knack for building things? Organizing?

Artistic? We bet you have a special talent that will help the animals.

Your help improves their quality of life and optimizes their chances for

adoption. Training is provided and flexible hours are available. No experience

necessary---just a desire to help and the commitment to be responsible and

reliable.

You will make a big difference here. Great volunteers allow us to rescue more

animals!

We are located in Mill Valley, close to both San Francisco and East Bay
