Guest guest
11/20/03 I woke up Thursday morning to a wonderful piece on Thanksgiving on KQED radio 88.5 FM " Perspectives " by Colleen Patrick Goudreau. She was saying how over 300 million turkeys are needlessly slaughtered for this festive holiday and how many wonderful alternatives there are for the holiday meal as we all know. The piece airs again Thursday 11/20 at 11:32 pm and again on Sunday 11/23 at 8:37 am. If you can, it would be great if as many people in the group could write to the producer and thank him for airing a perspective that is animal friendly. His name is Mark Trautwein and his e-mail is mtrautwein. Thanks. Ron --- wrote: >
Guest guest
Thanks, Ron. Mark has gotten some positive emails (and one ridiculously written complaint). He sent me a few he received, and it's really cute when the email address reveals that it's obviously from a veg*n/animal rights person. Just wanted to clarify what Ron wrote (I'm a stickler for detail): 300 million birds are killed each year in the US for human consumption; of this number, 45 million are for Thanksgiving. Thanks, Ron. You rock!
