Ethiopian Cooking Class

Hi all,

The owner of Ethiopia Restaurant (Telegraph & Ashby in

Berkeley) is considering teaching an Ethiopian cooking

class. I would like a vegan class and if I can get 10

or so people together, she might do it sooner than

later. If you are interested, could you please email

me? Also, please let me know if you'd like a one

time, all day class or something that ran over a few

sessions, plus how much you'd be comfortable paying.

If anything comes out of it, I'll email further

details to everyone who replied.

If you haven't been to Ethiopia Restaurant, do try it!

It's the best Ethiopian food I've had. Their

potato/cabbage dish and collard greens are

particularly good. I believe you can get brown rice

or teff instead of injera if you ask. You can also

purchase fresh, homemade injera at the restaurant.

I've been informed by staff that their vegetarian

selections are vegan. They also have a lunch buffet

on weekdays. It's about $6.00, all you can eat, all

veggie (I'd double check about vegan though, since

they change dishes occasionally). Oh, plus they are

open until 11:00 for late night dining and sometimes

have live Ethiopian music. FYI, I'm just a happy

customer & have no affiliation with the restaurant.

Thanks!

Nicole

Glad to hear positive reports about the Ethiopia!

Their food and service was a problem for a while, which caused me to stay

away for a couple years! I used to go there for years and it was my

favorite too! I love their lunch buffet and their back patio dining.

Recently, we found Abysinnia was equally as good, at least I think so!

I would love an Ethiopian Cooking class, provided the cost was affordable,

say $25. Does that seem reasonable? I think a few sessions would be more

manageable for me than one whole day.

Thanks for organizing !

Marcy
