Guest guest
---hi lesley, thanks for compiling a great list. here are restaurants that i know have vegan items that may or may not be known: 1)katz bagels 16th and mission and 2nd and mission- all vegan bagels except those with cheese that are labeled cheese, they also have tofutti cream cheese-plain or chive! 2)burma star- plenty of vegan options 3)pomela-30th and church- have vegan tofu scramble brunch on weekends with vegan potatoes and toast, also they have noodles and grains that are vegan 4)panhandle pizza- vegan cheese and organic vegies a side note: i have been going to burma star for a while now, and always ask what is/can be made vegan, and i have had plenty of different answers, so i finally nailed the owner down and now know what is actually vegan. here are the following items that are vegan: vegie sumosas green beans spicy tofu tofu and vegie kebab coconut rice brown rice rice noodles with vegies sumosa soup-vegie greens of the day tee leaf saled-vegie rainbow salad-vegie i believe that is it. i hope it helps those of you that dine there. thanks again namaste lesley milstead <veganlesley wrote: > Freedom For Animals is currently compiling a list of > all vegetarian/vegan > friendly restaurants in the Bay Area. Guest guest
Hey there, I just wanted to mention that the listing below is *exactly* what we're looking for from everyone for this restaurant guide! That corner cafe that sells vegan cream cheese or tofu scramble, or a pizza place with vegan cheese. We of course know about all the vegetarian restaurants in the city, but by publicizing the vegan options at different restaurants across the city, we will make it easier to be vegan in the city and also help support the products and vegan-friendly establishments that sell them. Please continue to send suggestions to Lesley at veganlesley. Please note that in this version of the guide, we will just be focusing on restaurants in SF, which is a daunting enough task, though we will include vegetarian restaurants outside the city. Thanks for your help!!
