Guest guest
> Bay Leaf is also a very small restaurant that might be overwelmed by a party of 20. Most restaurants (even large ones) don't like it when you show up with a large group and order off the menu. It creates havoc in their kitchen and disrupts service to their other customers. I know when I volunteered to host a BAVRT at Stoa's, they immediately recommended having a special menu with a few items for people to choose from. And they are a large restaurant with a large number of wait staff. So, while we had ~20 people there, everyone picked from a pre-selected 2 or 3 choices and I think that helped Stoa's prepare in advance so we did not have delays in food or deterioration in service. I am also one of those people that would rather spend my $$ at a vegetarian (vegan if possible!) restaurant, over a non-veg restaurant. However, I do agree that restaurants excel in different areas, and that is one of the reasons that we are sponsoring a restaurant contest with several categories for vegetarian restaurants ONLY. The vegetarian categories: Best Restaurant for Service Best Restaurant for Ambience Best Restaurant for Dinner under $10 Best Restaurant for Breakfast/Brunch Best Restaurant for Lunch Special Best Overall Vegetarian Restaurant Best Overall Vegan Restaurant Best New Restaurant Open to all restaurants: Best Restaurant for Vegan Dessert Best Restaurant for Vegan Pizza Best Restaurant for (vegan) Veggie Burger Sean, sounds like you need to get your vote in for Bay Leaf :-) Here's the URL to vote for the Best in Bay Area Vegetarian Dining! And don't forget there are special prizes for randomly selected voters, too. http://www.bayareaveg.org/contest.htm Cheers, Tammy Get the veg vote out!!
