Guest guest
Join Us for Wildlife Protection Project This Saturday! In Defense of Animals Hello, During the past year, many volunteers have helped gophers by planting native plants and landscapnig the area around The Great Highway as part of The San Francisco Wildlife Protection Project. The Project is a joint effort by In Defense of Animals and the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department to create a wildlife 'sanctuary' along the Great Highway. By landscaping the area according to the Parks Department's specifications, volunteers create a habitat for native gophers and prevent them from being trapped and killed. Unfortunately, this vitally important wildlife protection project (and the gophers who rely on our help) is in jeopardy of being cancelled. The SF Rec & Parks Department allocates a staffperson and supplies, and if we cannot increase the number of volunteers to at least 10 people each month from the four or five who have come out the last three months, they will not continue this life-saving project. We urge your to join us (and bring a friend or two) for this fun and unique opportunity to save the lives of gophers, beautify the area, learn about native plants and wildlife, and make new friends. Please join us! Vegan refreshments provided. WHEN? This Saturday, November 1, 9 am to Noon WHERE?
