Tilden Park- Wildcat View Campsite

11:30am, 12-October-2003 (Barring inclement weather.)

Celebrate the autumn harvest season during Sukkot, with a

vegetarian brunch. Congregation Netivot Shalom has kindly

offered BAJV in sharing their sukkah located in Tilden Park,

Berkeley. An invitation is extended to come help build the

sukkah on 10-October at 11:00am.

Sukkot commemorates the fall harvest season, when the Israelite

people brought offerings to the ancient Temple as a sign of

thanksgiving for G-d's kindness. Sukkot also commemorates the

forty years of the Israelites wandering in the desert after their

exodus from Egypt. A sukkah, which is a temporary structure, is

built and used during this holiday to remind us of the temporary

shelters used in the desert.

It is requested to RSVP with the item you are planning to share;

appetizer, salad, main dish, drink, etc. Please ensure any

packaged item, and food brought into the sukkah meets the

Congregation's kashrut policy. -
